The name Shawn Walker to some the name may not mean much. To others the name symbolizes a man who is a father, husband and beloved member of the community. Walker over the past few years has become a very prominent role model for many young men and women in the Broward County area. Shawn Walker is a motivational speaker who through his organization the M.F.L.(Motivating Future Leaders)is leading and encouraging hundreds of young people to overcome peer pressure and find self-confidence within themselves.
Walker's motivation to start the MFL stems from his own past. Shawn like many young men had a burning passion for sports and was a talented athlete and as a young running back/middle linebacker that found his sanctuary on the gridiron. The young running back had eyes and dreams of one day playing in the pros but, a life altering circumstance happened.
Walker at the age of 15 got a young woman pregnant and chose to hang up his cleats to be a father."Me not having a father in my life influenced my decision to step up and be the father I never had."
While speaking to multiple youth Shawn noticed that though time has passed children still face similar problems as they did decades ago. "Talking to these guys one thing I picked up is that identity is one of the biggest challenges todays youth face."
The award winning public speaker says that the MFL aims to create value and a built sense of worth within the youth. Walker emphasized on how important it is for positive male role models being involved in their lives,"Males have a moral obligation to be strong. I want them to be responsible and accountable but most importantly better men."

Shawn aims to expand the reach of the MFL to as many public schools and group homes as possible. Walker says in five years he wants to see the MFL become something very vital in society. "I want anyone who goes through this program to feel like
"I am changed", Miracles happen everyday you just have to decide to be that miracle for someone else."
